Bishop Fintan has made the following appointments for the Family of Parishes of Aughadown, Castlehaven, Kilmacabea, Rath and The Islands, and Skibbereen, where they will share the pastoral care of these parishes:

• Fr John Heinhold SPS Co-PP
• Fr Bernard Cotter Co-PP
• Fr Terry O’Brien MSC Co-PP
• Fr Evin O’Brien CC

These appointments take effect on 10th September 2022.

Fr. John Heinhold SPS is also appointed Moderator of this Family of Parishes, an appointment which forms part of the plan of renewal of the diocese. The plan puts more emphasis on co-responsibility and shared leadership — with lay people and priests working together towards mission.

• Fr John Heinhold SPS and Fr Evin O’Brien CC will reside in Skibbereen
• Fr Bernard Cotter in Union Hall
• Fr. Terry O’Brien MSC in Leap.

As these appointments come into effect, the priests ask you for your support and prayers, as they try to serve the pastoral care of every person in our new Family of Parishes — with faith, and to the best of our abilities.
